Hello! I’m Janet.

As a Textile Designer, I create vector and hand-painted art for textiles and surfaces, serving clients since 2004.

Bringing beautiful art and design to products is a gift I get to give my customers. Their exuberance is a gift right back to me. Painting is a form of meditation, quiet and thoughtful. Creating patterns is joyful and playful, I could go on all day. It’s my best thing. I love to develop different color options my customers will adore (there’s always a blue), and see their projects unfold with delight.

My passion for both the artistic and the technical aspects of design comes from growing up along the banks of a creek in Eastern Pennsylvania, wading among the ducks, and seeing patterns in the watery depths, rock formations, and sky above.  I love the chaos and structure of nature, and first pursued the sciences in college. Later, I earned an M.S. in Textiles from Philadelphia University, applying my love of science to texture, pattern, technology, and art. 

You’ll see influences from the natural world in all of my designs. I value making design choices that honor wellness and the environment. To further those principles, I teach interior design students at the New York School of Interior Design about textiles and how to make sustainable choices for clients. 

My designs bring warmth and personality to my clients projects, appearing in upholstery, wallcoverings, outdoor, and Children’s clothing

Things I love:

• My Dogs! My big boy shepherd, Oboe is the best friend a girl could have. Picasso (white) is a rescue pup and so silly.

• Volunteering at a dog shelter. So many sweet dogs who love to cuddle and play.

• Dark chocolate. Don’t bring your milk chocolate ‘round here! I’m a chocolate snob.

• City walking. I live in the country but I love traveling to cities. There’s so much to explore (and such good coffee).

• Doing nothing. Sitting on the porch looking out at the woods in back, with the butterflies, bird song, and buzz of nature feeds my soul.
