Color Palette - Milkweed Summer

It’s so hot here in eastern Pennsylvania! Flowers are blooming but a lot of things are looking dry. The leafy plants are doing the best right now.

I stumbled upon some bees resting the the lower leaves of the tall Milkweed plants. Literally they are stopping in the shade of the lower leaves and then heading up to the flowers to finish their work. I have not noticed the bees resting there before. It must be very hot for them as well!

Luckily rain is coming in a few days. Looking forward to that!

I popped on to Adobe Capture to start a color palette from this Milkweed.

I added a few colors and then pulled up some design work to recolor with my new Milkweed Summer palette. What do you think? It’s giving me a western desert vibe. Interesting!
