What says end of summer more than tomatoes picked right from the vine?
I’ve been wanting to do this post for a few weeks as the little tomatoes were crowding on the vine. Finally they were ready. The colors are so vibrant, and the taste? Not much beats a sun-warmed tomato.
This palette was pulled from the red and yellow tomatoes growing in my porch pots. With a few added neutrals, it immediately became a rich autumn palette. This palette worked so well for my Fall Leaf Layers pattern above.
To go with this complex layered pattern. I pulled together three other simpler styles to work into the color plan. They are Acorns, Tossed Leaf, and Poppies Sketch. These patterns would be fantastic on textiles for the kitchen and dining area, and to transition porch furniture to a fall scheme. Table runners, napkins, placemats, and cushions would all look great in this fall palette.
Consider this palette an evergreen theme. As is, or with small tweaks, it will continue to work for fall year after year since it is based not on trends but on nature, and a universally beloved subject: the garden.
The Poppies Sketch pattern looks divine on a prairie style dress for girls. Here are a few ideas in mock-up.
